[edit] Ship's Notes

"I am detecting the howls of countless creatures in the hole ahead. It is nearly deafening! Sound analysis indicates a wide variety of creatures nesting here. It is a melting pot of life! Mr. President, be extremely careful! Olimar, your job is to protect his life at all costs!"

[edit] Sublevels

[edit] Sublevel 1

Sublevel 1 (Actual sublevel layout may differ slightly as it is randomized each time you enter the sublevel)

Terrain: Field

Description: This sublevel's terrain is exactly like the Snagret Hole's earlier levels. Consisting of rock, grass, a few Clovers and a small selection of beasts, this sublevel can't be too bad... wrong. It is littered with Creeping Chrysanthemums, Sheargrubs, Shearwigs, Skitterleafs, and Cloaking Burrow-nits. In the corners, Dwarf Orange Bulborbs may drop from above, halting your progress to retrieve the Corpulent Nut. Eggs which could contain vital Nectar or sprays also are scattered about the level.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 80 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 2

Sublevel 2

Terrain: Dirt

Description: This level isn't to pretty either. It consists of bugs, such as the Swooping Snitchbug and Careening Dirigibug. The other enemies are the Bumbling Snitchbug and Anode Dweevil, the former of the two you would want to hunt down first, as if you are captured by it your pikmin are prone to anode dweevil's sparks. Bomb-rocks also fall in various positions around the level, most likely alcoves. Once the enemies are out of the way, un-bury the Essense of True Love with White Pikmin and take it back. You may want to watch your Pikmin when they take back spoils and treasures,as Bomb-rocks that didn't get knocked down may endanger traveling pikmin. An Antenna Beetle messes up your Treasure Gauge here.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 60 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 3

Sublevel 3

Terrain: Dirt

Description: A place that may be called "Blowhog Town" makes its appearance here. Jam-packed with Blowhogs of all four kinds, this place is a real annoyance. The gates make it worse, as blowhogs can send their attacks through them when your Pikmin are hard at work. Once the four types of blowhog are eliminated, the Love Sphere can be collected. Watch out for Volatile Dweevils that will fall throughout the level anywhere, anytime.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 85 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 4

Sublevel 4

Terrain: Sand

Description: This floor - as you may guess from its appearence, with many alcoves - bears home to a Pileated Snagret and a Burrowing Snagret. Only one of them has the treasure, the Lustrous Element, usually the Pileated. Be ware of the sandtrap, this drags Pimin to its center, making them difficult to get back out. Red Pikmin or Purple Pikmin with spicy sprays are recommended. As a last resort, White Pikmin could be fed to the Snagret, but you would need to sacrafice 12.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 1000 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 5

Sublevel 5

Terrain: Sand

Description: This sublevel is treasure less. Instead, a large assortment of Honeywisps, Iridescent Glint Beetles, Mamutas and Unmarked Spectralids make this level a Rest Level. Two mamutas, one Queen Candypop Bud, two glint beetles (That drop Nectar, Spicy Spray, Spicy Spray) and Unmarked Spectralids will provide you with sprays, extra Pikmin, nectar and a flowering service. The honeywisps may drop Mitites, Nectar or a spray. If you want to leave the cave, a Geyser is located in the floor.

Treasures: None

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 0 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 6

Sublevel 6

Terrain: Dirt / Sand

Description: This sublevel requires Blue Pikmin, as most of it is water. The music here is unique, and the design of the sublevel is a rare one. This level may require use of several Sprays, as most of the enemies are from the Amphituber Family, as well as a few Hermit Crawmads. The Wollywogs should not be swarmed, unless you want to risk loosing a few Pikmin. If you need blue pikmin, blue candypop buds can be found in some of the alcoves, alongside falling eggs. If you are lucky, the treasure may be near you when you start. Break the rock seal on the hole to continue down.

Treasures:

  • Nutrient Silo (NTSC)/Stringent Container (PAL)

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 130 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 7

Sublevel 7

Terrain: Tile

Description: On this floor, you will find 4 cannon beetles, and the Ranging Bloyster. If that wasn't enough, falling boulders may appear anywere. Use the cannon beetles' rocks to hit themselves, first. Use the gate's alcoves to your advantage when getting rid of the cannon beetles to. Keep switching between captains to confuse the bloyster, hit the bulb on its back, and get the Joyless Jewel.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 100 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 8

Sublevel 8

Terrain: Sand

Description: The second rest level. On this floor is 2 Doodlebugs, a Bulbmin and some candypop buds. Before, you however, throw any Pikmin into the Queen candypop bud, find and get the Bulbmin from the bulbmin mother. The bulbmin, even though don't appear to be, count towards your 100 Pikmin even if not with you. Be careful with the doodlebug when attacking the bulbmin, because this floor could turn out to be a disaster! An exit is also anchored here. There are no treasures, so you can just find the exit if you want.

Treasures: None

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 0 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 9

Sublevel 9
Some of the bulborbs that dominate sublevel nine.

Terrain: Tile

Description: This sublevel is where you are going to need to use your ultra-bitter spray. It consists of every grub-dog in the game (Except water dumple, and the two bosses) and a threesome of all the possible dwarfs. The bulbear becomes an immediate problem, as it will start waking up all the other creatures. Sometimes, the bulbear walks over half-built gates and even eats through walls! The Fiery Bulblax holds the treasure.

Treasures: Dimensional Slicer (NTSC)/Patience Tester (PAL)

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 100 (NTSC) / 130 (PAL) Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 10

Sublevel 10

Terrain: Dirt

Description: This sublevel has two Emperor Bulblaxs, as well as Poision emmiting from the ground and Mitites, also coming up from the ground. If you are unlucky, one of the Bulblaxes could roar, sending your Pikmin into a Panic and waking the other Pikmin up. One of them holds the treasure, the Treasured Gyro Block.

[edit] Sublevel 11

Sublevel 11

[edit] Sublevel 12

Sublevel 12

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 80 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 13

Sublevel 13

Terrain: Metallic

Description: These next floors have battles of each of the Arachonorb members. This floor has the Man-at-legs. The problem, is however, the whole floor has little dips with water in. Use the barriers to your advantage, and remember: The man at legs targets the nearest Pikmin/captain group. Once killed, collect the Memorable Gyro Block and continue down for the next battle.

It may be worth leaving this floor and coming back with 70 blues, if you have a lot of trouble with Man-at-legs. He is not too hard to beat, as long as you use Spicy Sprays.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 80 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 14

Sublevel 14

Terrain: Sand

Description: Once again, blue Pikmin are needed for this fight. Amoungst all of the Dweevils, a Beady Long Legs falls somewere. He holds the treasure, the Fond Gyro Block, to finallise your Gyro Block collection. You don't have to use Blue Pikmin, especially if the boss isn't in the water.

Treasures:

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 80 Pokos

[edit] Sublevel 15

Sublevel 15

Terrain: Tile / Sand

Description: If you got down here without loosing any Pikmin, congratulations! This floor has the final battle, but first you should kill the jellyfloats in the main area. Try to do this without going to close to the middle - because if you do, the final boss of this cave appears - Raging Long Legs! He might look slow and clumsy at first, but when you start attacking him, he will start stomping around like crazy. Once he is finally killed, he gives you the last treasure of this chaotic cave: Remembered Old Buddy. If you kill him after you have collected the treasure, he drops fifty Mitites instead. There is also a few eggs behind gates.

Total Treasure Value on Floor: 250 Pokos
